Panel discussion: Between Middle Age and Old Age – Who Am I?

In connection with the Rajatila performance on Thursday 26 March, a panel discussion titled Between Middle Age and Old Age – Who Am I? will be held from 6–7 pm. The panelists are Jorma Uotinen, Jonna Järnefelt, Kati Reijonen, and Sinikka Sokka.
The panel discussion is included in the ticket price for Thursday’s performance.

The end of a working career can trigger an identity crisis and raise the question: Who am I?

Many people over the age of 60 struggle with a sense of meaningfulness and search for a new role in society. Outdated perceptions of older people and restrictive attitudes in our environment can limit the possibility of building a life that feels true to oneself. Is it allowed, in old age, to become visible and to renew oneself?

In this panel discussion, Jorma Uotinen, Jonna Järnefelt, Kati Reijonen, and Sinikka Sokka reflect on the emotions that aging evokes and the kinds of role models available for people over sixty. Why is aging surrounded by such strong negative stereotypes, and how might these outdated perceptions be challenged and refreshed?
