Blinded Mind

“Susanna Leinonen Company celebrates its tenth anniversary – In style!”

Blinded Mind is a dance work that plays with contrasts and oppositions. Its powerful visual elements and soundworld tells the story of one individual’s bravery in swimming against the stream and the unavoidable consequences that follow. Dreamlike sensitivity is combined with stark reality. It plays with visual contrasts, in which black-and-white and colour engage in a dialogue.

“Susanna Leinonen’s new work Blinded Mind is apt to blow your mind in a storm of emotions. It overwhelms the audience in an enchanting and mesmerizing wave.“

– Helsingin Sanomat (2011)

“Leinonen’s movement language has always been very precise, polished and complicated, but now there is more soft flow and vitality. The work’s six dancers comprise a wonderful and intensive group, which moves like a dream. — The dancers have rather different kinds of solos and duets and groupings that are ever-changing. At the end all six dancers dance together and Leinonen’s movement language can be seen at its best.”
