FREE VOICE TRAINING COURSE FOR ELDERLY IN HELSINKI

The power of sound – singing and other possibilities of sound.

Have you always wanted to sing, but were afraid to try? Or maybe you’re already familiar with singing, but would like to explore your voice in a new way? Now you have a unique opportunity to embark on a journey towards the limitless possibilities of your own voice!

Susanna Leinonen Company is organising a free voice course on two Fridays, aimed at older people (65+) in Helsinki. There are no level requirements – you don’t need previous singing experience, just an open mind and curiosity about your own voice.

The course is led by Eija Ahvo, who guides participants on a sonic journey of discovery in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

Ahvo can be seen and heard both in concert halls, theater stages, films or audiobook studios. Roles such as Mrs. Ruusupuu in the movie Onneli ja Anneli, concert stage roles such as Moomin Mother in Muumiperheen lauluretki, and the voice of Grandmother Alma in the animated film Encanto keep the actress sharp. She has released numerous recordings, and the most recent of these, Tulitikkutyttö appeared in 2021. Elina Saksala’s biography of Ahvo, Elämän sain soimaan, was published the same year. President Niinistö recognized her with a Pro Finlandia medal in 2018 for her work.

The first 40 registrations for both courses will be accepted. You can take both courses or just one.
