In Dreams of Replay choreographer Susanna Leinonen takes the audience to an evocative journey. Music composed by Kasperi Laine and the choreographic narrative by Leinonen complement each other to create a powerful artistic vision. Dreams of Replay asks questions about the awareness of our choices. What if we could do everything again? Would we make different decisions? Would it be just the same?
In Dreams of Replay Leinonen has returned to her previous works. She has built the piece by listening, remembering, reflecting, thinking back and exploring the movement language from her previous choreographies. Rather than re-use the old material, Leinonen has created a new, unique world inspired by the journey to her past.
The result of this process is a piece where minimalistic scene design meets strange and abundant characters, where sound and light work in dialogue with movement to create affective and intriguing images. We are compelled to take a closer look: what is really happening on stage?

Reviews
Dreams of Replay fit to become a star export product of Finnish dance theatre
“As a lover of dance, I am naturally pleased by the fact that the power and purity of dance are so strongly in the focus. Here we have an ensemble that could be from any world-class dance company. The technique of classical ballet meets the surprising nature of contemporary dance and brings out the best in both.” / Jussi Tossavainen, Helsingin Sanomat newspaper, 09/07/2017
Magnificent, thoroughly polished movement
All the focus is on the dancers and they absolutely live up to the challenge. Every movement from the details of the positions to the tips of their fingers is premeditated and delivered to perfection. The five dancers are almost virtuoso ensemble, both standing out as individuals and giving space for each other. Leinonen’s signature ballet-based contemporary style lives and breathes in their dance, both controlled and energetic. / Annikki Alku, Demokraatti, 11/09/2017
