Dancer

Maija Kiviluoto

“Leinonen’s movement language sparked a new flame in the way I relate to dance! The challenge and opportunity to work with finely articulated movement is a great motivation.”

Maija Kiviluoto has graduated with a M.A. degree in dance from the Finnish Theatre Academy in 2004. After graduation she has worked as a freelance dancer with several finnish choreographers, as well as in the Finnish National Opera.  She is also a founder and a dancer in Petri Kekoni Company.  She has danced in Susanna Leinonen Company since 2004, in the choreographies Disturbed Silence, And the Line Begins to Blur, Trickle, Green Oak and Blinded Mind.  The Finnish Cultural Foundation has provided Kiviluoto a one year artists’ grant in 2012.
