Jarkko Lehmus

Jarkko Lehmus trained at the Finnish National Ballet School and at Millennium Performing Arts in London. He danced as a soloist with the Scottish Ballet in 2003–2009. He performed in neo-classical and contemporary works by such major names as William Forsythe, Siobhan Davies, Ashley Page, Krzysztof Pastor, Richard Alston and Stephen Petronio. In 2005 Lehmus received an Herald Angel Award for Excellence for his performances of Ashley Page’s works at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Since moving back to Finalnd in 2011 Jarkko has been a visiting artist at Tero Saarinen Company, Susanna Leinonen Company, the Finnish National Ballet and Zodiak – Centre for New Dance. He has also worked with the National Youth Dance Company, David Hughes Dance Company, Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre and Arc Dance Company among others. His solo project, Da Entstünde Ein Engel, premiered in 2010 and the duet project, Re-Touch, with Johanna Nuutinen of FNB at 2012.

Jarkko finds a great pleasure in working with the very talented dancers of the company and the well articulated movement language of Susanna Leinonen.
